The French are passionate connoisseurs of patisseries. Really, only in Paris, do people line up around the corner for gateaus. So, it’s a testament to Japanese-born Sadaharu Aoki. The appeal is his mélange of Japanese ingredients like macha (Japanese green tea powder), sesame, and yuzu (Japanese lemon) with French elements. My favorite, Macaron au macha, and the kitsche looking, beautifully coiffed, mannequin like Japanese girls who serve at his Patisserie. Only in Paris!
